Turn right from the park towards Colico and Morbegno and you will soon find the large covered shopping centre Fuentes with a major supermarket. Turn left towards Domaso, Gravedona and Dongo for local supermarkets, authentic shopping and unique lakeside dining.
Don't forget to visit the beautiful medieval churches in nearly every village, or start here for an unforgettable walk along the lakeshore or through mountain passes with spectacular views.

Travel tips in advance
Car, plane, train and ferry
Car
From the Netherlands (IJmuiden, Hook of Holland or the Channel Tunnel) the distance to the park is about 1,070 km. This is doable in one day if you take enough breaks. Most drivers take the route via Basel and the Gotthard.
An alternative is the San Bernardino Pass. More adventurous routes include the Splügen Pass or the Julier/Maloja passes.
Online route planners such as Google Maps can prepare your journey, flag traffic and suggest alternative routes.
Plane
Affordable flights go to Bergamo (Orio al Serio), about 85 km from the park. Airlines such as Ryanair, Transavia and Berliner fly there.
Other airports: Milano Linate (105 km) for KLM/Alitalia and related carriers, and Milano Malpensa (125 km) for KLM, Alitalia and EasyJet.
Malpensa has an excellent train link to Milano Centrale ("Malpensa Express"). From Linate a frequent bus runs to Milano Centrale.
Train
From Milano Centrale travel north via Colico — the nearest train station to the park. There take local bus line C-10 towards Menaggio/Como and get off in Gera Lario.
From Bergamo travel via Lecco to Colico. The Italian public train network is excellent and affordable.
